Hugs and Kisses (not the chocolate kind)

My sister, Rachel, stayed with us for a week before heading back to school in Idaho.  Lincoln has always adored her, but this time, he learned the sign for "aunt," plus would say (in Lincoln language) "aunt ray."  Every morning while getting him ready, Lincoln would sign "aunt" by circling his fist around his cheek, saying, "auuhn aaey."  It killed me and gave Rachel a heart attack (the good kind) every time Lincoln did it.

I'm 100% positive Lincoln would've hidden in Rachel's suitcase and (after stealing his car seat) Rachel would've buckled him in and drove away.  Peanut butter and jelly, those two.

Looking on the bright side: although goodbyes are the worst, at least it's solid proof we seriously loved our time together!

  1. I love it. I think it's where we learn what a real broken heart feels like, though. To watch precious moments with children and we can't save them any more than sand through our fingers. But they happened! and they will always be in your hearts. I love you girls!
