chocolate ice cream cones

A few days ago we took a walk down to Iceberg Hamburger Stand and got ice cream cones.  It seemed like a great idea, considering the insane heat, but after the first minute they were in our hands, they melted all over.  Ice cream on a hot day sounds wonderful, but eating them before they became goo was more effort than I bargained for.  Next time I think I'll settle for a slurpee.
Lincoln has finally found his feet, and I don't know if he has been this excited since he found his hands.  He holds onto his toes all day, and when he is too tired to hold them, he rubs them together.  I'm glad it's warm enough to leave him barefoot through this stage!

p.s.  look at the little fuzz growing on top of his head!  Yeah hair!

A Walk in the Park

The great parks Salt Lake City has available is one of the many reasons I am beginning to love it here.  Tyce and I used to live a block away from Sugar House Park, and since discovering the nicety a walk around the pond can be, I try to make it out for a stroll every now and then.  Thanks to a light stroller and a baby who loves sunglasses, our days at the park are a great excuse to get out of the house for a few hours.

raining and pouring

Most days we like to get out of the house; the days that we don't, however, are also pretty fun!  Our plans for a walk through Liberty Park were put off until tomorrow, thanks to the random thunderstorm today (and I mean thanks sincerely - I love thunderstorms)!  It's so much fun getting to know Lincoln; his own unique personality is really beginning to take center stage (second to eating, that is)!

Goodnight Moon

I can hear my mom's voice reading this book every time we pull it off the bookshelf to read.  After a consistent temperature of 95 degrees and higher today, the moon was a welcome sight.  I feel so lucky to be married to someone who believes reading to be as important as I do.  We love our bedtime stories!

let's go smoke some crayolas...

Most days we wish we lived closer to our family and friends, but since we don't, this blog is an attempt to close the distance between us (until the next family vacation, that is).  We wanted to share a little about our life as parents, newlyweds, and best friends.

We hope you enjoy!
