The past four days.

On Friday, both siblings (that still reside at home) and my parents left for the weekend without us!  Rude.  But since I wasn't about to volunteer to reenact the migration of the handcart pioneers (which I did do when I was 14, and it was an amazing one time experience because it is so exhausting) as they were doing, Lincoln and I had the house to ourselves for four days.

But a glorious four days it has been!  Although we've missed our family, we've also enjoyed warmth.  Yeah, warmth!  Ya know, that wonderful heat that signals summer has arrived?  Well, when my mom is boss of this house, warmth is not welcome.  At all.  I seriously believe that if she ever found our thermostate messing around with any temperature higher than 70 degrees, she'd slap it in it's plastic face.  For me, that means leaving the dresses I packed in the bottom of my suitcase, and wearing the one pair of jeans I brought over and over.  Boo.

So the past four days we've been throwing a party.  A party that only heat, popsicles, swimsuits, and sunscreen are invited to.  And I'm basking in this magnificent heat right now because my mom is on her way home to make sure the blankets aren't being forgotten, and forcing me to wear socks to bed.  Can you imagine?  Socks should never be allowed under the covers.

  3. Oh please! Put some meat on them bones and then you won't be so cold! Have to laugh...it hasn't been a hot summer here and you came just in time for the cool spell, but finally, while we're gone, you get to party in the heat! So glad you were here!
