"I haven't slept in four years!!" or so it felt...

Somehow a sleeping baby always looks so beautiful.  But let's be honest, there are "those days," that no matter how beautiful and peaceful they look while dreaming, we're subconsciously scared to death that they'll wake up before we have time to shower.

When I was in California, Lincoln demanded to share my twin bed with me.  When I demanded he sleep in his crib, an entire five feet away, I would also end up sleeping in there (oh yes, it happened) so we could get more than one hour of sleep at a time.  By the time our vacation had ended, King Lincoln had claimed the bed all to his sprawled-out self (notice above).

This clip kept coming to mind and making me laugh at how similar I was feeling.  It wasn't so funny at the time, but in retrospect it's pretty hilarious. I'm happy to report that since we've returned from our trip, Lincoln has slept through the entire night, waking up only at 6 a.m. for a "snack," then going back to sleep until 9, which is sort of a big deal around here!  Who knew sleep would be so ridiculously important?

  2. He is so precious! Eli still finds his way in our bed. But he is such a good little sleeper he doesn't bug us. They won't be twenty doing this, so soak it up!

  3. We just got back from a vacation and my son refused to fall asleep in the crib there. He had to fall asleep in our bed first and then we moved him to his crib. I totally hear you about getting things done while they are sleeping-it's like a race before a bomb goes off.
